T-Scan® III: Dental Occlusal Analysis System

The new T-Scan III includes new hardware, which samples at a consistent rate of 100Hz. This fixed sampling rate means that each frame of a T-Scan movie is always equal to .01 seconds. The result is a more consistent replay of data and the COF trajectory segments represented in .01 second increments vs. a variable time frame with the USB handle. Take a quick look at how the T-Scan III can improve your practice. (Viewing requires Adobe Flash)

The T-Scan III plugs right into the USB port of your Windows based PC or laptop. Vivid graphics makes seeing the balance of the perfect bite easy to determine and adjust. Data can be printed to provide valuable documentation for patient files, patient education or insurance documentation.

T-Scan III also includes new T-Scan software - version 5.0. This software incorporates many ease of use ideas gathered from experience with users, streamlines data collection and improves data presentation, so customers spend less time collecting and analyzing data and more time applying the information and discussing the results with their patients.

Key new features of T-Scan III and 5.0 software include:

  • Collect occlusal data via the USB system handle; never touch the PC throughout your exam.
  • Easy to move from one operatory to the other.
  • Consistent scan rate of 100 Hz.
  • Icons related to a view appear in the tool bar of that Window.
  • The percentage force per tooth is easily displayed.
  • The 2-D arch view can more easily be divided into quadrants.
  • Zoom graph window.
  • Patient chart for customizing arch model.

FlexiForce® Load/Force Sensors and Systems

FlexiForce®, a division of Tekscan, is commited to providing the most advanced, thin, tactile force and pressure sensors in the world. These sensors are accurate and simple-to-use.

Tekscan's FlexiForce single-element load sensors are at work in a variety of applications, performing a multitude of functions. The sensors are utilized to:

  • Detect and measure a relative change in force or applied load
  • Detect and measure the rate of change in force
  • Identify force thresholds and trigger appropriate action
  • Detect contact and/or touch

FlexiForce sensors are a versatile, user-friendly solution, because they can be used with your existing electronics, such as a standard multimeter, or you can purchase an ELF System, complete with data acquisition electronics and accompanying software.

FlexiForce load sensors and the ELF systems provide a new category of low cost solutions and OEM tools for anyone who wants an economical solution to their load/force sensing needs. We offer both standard and custom solutions. FlexiForce carries a variety of advantages over the competition, including:

  • Greater flexibility
  • Superior linearity & accuracy
  • Expert technical guidance in custom solutions
  • Wider range of forces
  • Sensor output is not a function of loading area

ELF™ Force Measurement System - The Complete Solution

Tekscan's ELF force measurement system matches the market's need for an inexpensive load and force measurement system with Tekscan's ability to deliver innovative load and force measurement solutions. The ELF system combines Tekscan's FlexiForce® single element force sensors with advanced electronics to produce a simple but powerful, cost-effective force measurement system.

The ELF hardware is simple to install. The standard ELF System handle connects to your USB port. The Wireless ELF Hub connects to your USB port, quickly turning your computer into a force measurement instrument.

The ELF force measurement system exclusively utilizes FlexiForce sensors. These sensors have a patented interconnect to our ELF hardware. The combination of superior sensor performance, electronics and software ensures optimal system accuracy and performance. The FlexiForce sensor is an ultra-thin (0.008"), flexible printed circuit. The system comes complete with three sensors in various force ranges: low (0 - 25 lbs; 111 N), medium (0 - 150 lbs; 667 N), and high (0 -1000 lbs; 4450 N). Forces less than 0.044 lb (20 g; 0.196 N) up to 1000 lbs (454 kg; 4450 N) can be covered with the ELF system.

Standard features include:

  • Adjustable gain (lets you fine-tune the desired force range)
  • Real-time graphic displays in strip chart, column graph, or digital readout
  • Data retrieval and playback
  • Ability to store and retrieve calibration files
  • Internal triggering
  • User-selected recording speeds from
10 Hz up to 200 Hz
  • ASCII Output

Alpha-Stim 100 Microcurrent

The Alpha-Stim® 100 was developed by neurobiologist Dr. Daniel L. Kirsch and consultant engineers. Dr. Kirsch has been a leading pioneer in the field of electromedicine since 1972. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management and a Fellow of the Clinical Electromedical Research Academy.

Dr. Kirsch has served as Clinical Director of the Center for Pain and Stress-Related Disorders at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and the Sports Medicine Group in Santa Monica, California. He lectures frequently to physicians worldwide on pain and stress management. Alpha-Stim® technology is backed by more independent research than any other device in its class. There have been no reports of significant side effects from any Alpha-Stim® device. Only original Alpha-Stim® products meet Electromedical Products International, Inc.’s exacting specifications.

The Alpha-Stim® 100 uses microcurrent electrical therapy (MET) for those suffering from acute, chronic or postoperative pain. The Alpha-Stim® 100 works with the body on a large variety of ailments, including difficult-to-treat problems. Alpha-Stim® 100 microcurrent technology produces residual and cumulative results, far superior to previous traditional milliampere transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) devices. Turn a TENS off and the pain returns. Although broadly classified as a TENS, the Alpha-Stim® 100 is significantly superior because MET works with tiny currents, closer to the type and amount of electricity that naturally occurs in the body. By comparison, the electric current used by typical TENS devices is thousands of times greater than natural body current. Although a slight tingling sensation is sometimes felt under the electrodes, it is not necessary to feel this in order to achieve results. Many people feel nothing at all with the Alpha-Stim® 100 except positive results.

MET is applied through easy to use probes or self-adhesive electrodes. Specific treatment protocols are included with the Alpha-Stim® 100 and technical assistance is readily available by telephone, fax, e-mail or mail. Alpha-Stim® technology is backed by more independent research than any other device in its class. Electromedical Products International, Inc. has been in business since 1981, treating a wide variety of medical disorders with Alpha-Stim® microcurrent technology during that time with no reports of significant side effects.
